But at any given moment, it can process only finite set of things
So to make the best use of it, you need to remove the unnecessary thoughts from it

These tips will help you to declutter your Mind and utilize its full Potential
1. Declutter Your Physical Environment

Physical clutter leads to mental clutter
The clutter bombards the mind with excessive stimuli forcing the brain to work overtime
It also signals to the brain that there’s something else that needs to be done, which is mentally exhausting
2. Write It Down

You don’t need to keep everything stored in your brain
Choose an app or a paper and think of it as a storage device for all those bits and pieces of information that you need to remember
This can include appointments, phone numbers, ideas for future and so on
3. Keep a Journal

While it is similar to the previous point, it is much more detailed
Journal allows you to write down all the mental chatter. Once written, things appear more clear to us
Write down you worries, annoying thoughts, plans, doubts, just about everything
4. Let Go of the Past

Most people keep hanging on to their past
This includes mistakes they’ve made, opportunities they’ve missed, people they’ve hurt and so on

Take time to go through these and discard memories that are not serving you well and are just cluttering up your mind
5. Stop Multi-Tasking

Decide a time to work on that important task and cut out all distractions at that time
Once you focus all your attention on one task, the results will be extraordinary
6. Limit the Amount of Information Coming In

Too much information can clog up the brain
This includes the information that you take in each day by reading newspapers, blogs, & magazines, watching TV, social media etc.
Keep tab of how much you are consuming
7. Be Decisive

When you keep decisions pending, they keep lingering on at the back of your mind
This affects your sleep as well
While you must analyze the pros and cons of a decision, you must set a deadline to finally make the move
8. Put Routine Decisions on Auto-Pilot

What to eat for breakfast, what to wear, where to shop, where to eat out,
put as many decisions as you can on Auto-Pilot mode. This means decide a pattern and then follow it
Don't spend mental energy on such tasks
9. Prioritize

Nothing creates as much brain clutter as an endless to-do list
Accept that you can’t do it all, and choose to focus on the things which are most important to you
Make a short list of your top priorities, and make sure that you focus on the things on that list
10. Meditate

While this is a one for all remedy for most of the mind related issues, it surely does help in decluttering your mind by providing the much needed clarity
