Here's another issue with parasocial relationships:

the sort of humor you use/jokes you tell with your close friends are not, necessarily, the same type of humor & jokes you ought to be using with people you don't know very well
You know what difficult subjects are ok to joke about with your friends; you know what things will upset your friends and thus are off-limits.

You don't know that about people with whom you aren't as close.
But the nature of parasocial relationships are such that you feel you ARE closer with someone you follow on social media. And that perceived closeness may make it....acceptable. To tell those sorts of jokes you really....shouldn't.
Like if you wanna use """dark humor""" on your own TL or whatever that's fine. It's your place, you can do what you want.

But to come into someone's replies--someone you don't know!--and make jokes about aborting kids? Not cool
Or to assume because you find something funny someone else will? Especially if it's about something that, you know, can be controversial? Not cool either!

Like you have to remember an actual real human person will be reading what you reply.
Like, in general half the jokes on here are performative nonsense ANYWAY but that's...whatever. That's normal lol. It's when that performative nonsense is combined with some sort of perceived closeness that you get...really inappropriately bad humor
Just take a moment before you make that fvcking abortion joke in someone's mentions ok? Like just...consider maybe not making it! Please!
