Dear Men, now that the women are offline, let’s tell ourselves some hard truths as we commemorate #InternationalTwitterMensDay

You are a man. Carry yourself with composure and pride. Treat everyone around you with respect and they will respect you.

Stand for the truth and tell it at all times even if it is bitter. Do not lose your dignity in the defense of a lie that everyone can see.

Remember that society has put a lot of weight and responsibility already on your shoulders because you are a man.

Be responsible always

On this app, show that responsibility in how you treat everyone, men and women alike.

Your opinion is not needed when a woman posts her body, if your comments will be hurtful, keep them to yourself.

That is body shaming, harassment and irresponsible from you.

Be a man.

Your masculinity is not a bad thing. It is who you are. Do not apologize for it. However, a woman’s femininity is also who she is. The two can do exist peacefully.

Reducing the value of the female gender is patriarchal not masculine. Real men do not reduce women. Be a man.

Support women’s rights anywhere and anyhow you can. The world needs more strong women as we seek to build strong societies for the next generation.

Supporting women’s rights doesn’t make you weak, it makes you strong.

Finally, learn and adopt self control in communication with women.

Stop slut-shaming because of a minor argument.

There is discipline in restraint. Be a man. Ignore and move on.
