Don't listen to rich chefs and their ideas for how things should be working. They are unaffected by all of this and can cookbook, license, tv, and/or vacation home their way out of this.
If you allowed them to open at 100% dining tomorrow they would have a ticket tape parade and would fill all the seats without regard to their employees.
Keep in mind that a lot of them jumped at the chance to open at limited occupancy and powered through that and here we areeeeee.
"THEY SHUT US DOWN". Who the fuck is they? You mean you. You shut yourself down. You had options and you chose the wrong one. Could have steered messaging towards safety but noooooo dishes and covers were more important.
The messaging being pushed that restaurants are community and how essential they are..... Many restaurants aren't accessible to most community members so please stop with that shit.
Restaurants have licenses. If they can't follow health and safety regulations and stay ahead of the clear data out there then maybe change your focus and start paying attention.
The new mind blowing dish that will get you on the cover of Time doesn't exist anymore. Paying attention to the needs of your employees and pushing strict safety regulations will be the thing.
Fucking dorks build outdoor/indoor free restaurants and will complain to the city and have homeless people with a tent kicked out of where they sleep even if they're not even close to a restaurant. But yeah, restaurants more important.
What I'm saying is restaurants shouldn't be open for dine in or outdoor dining. This virus thrives on social interaction and we all know this. You can't just ignore it because you miss food.
Wondering why the federal government won't help and hiring lobbyists because it really effected you is the whitest richest thing possible. Many don't have that and frankly the lobbyists didn't help. You played yourself.
Then there's the TIP BIG chants. Those tips don't go to everyone. The person that is bagging your food is probably the only one legally allowed to get that. Back of house staff? Nope. But owners say tip big to drive more people in so they don't have to pay staff.
Fun fact: America wasn't built on helping everyone. A lot of rich chefs are starting to realize that and it's funny to me.
We were never in this together. There's levels to this shit and the rich ones are playing a different game. Their strategy right now is to show feeling of empathy so they can be the first to grab any money and/or attention to get back on top.
Click to the video one and see large parties, custom built outdoor/indoor thing and then realize this mother fucker was on Trump's re-opening strategy team. Rich as fuck. https://www.instagram.com/p/CHks52RLN82/
Now is not the time for mediocre rich chefs to push mediocre safety strategy. Stop listening to rich chefs, they got that way for a reason and it had nothing to do with being safe.
