As we age, plaque builds up in blood vessels.Receptors on cells become clogged. We lose muscles. Brain cells die. Membranes tear. Bones dwindle and crack. Tendons and ligaments fray. Our immune systems become weak. All this can be slowed by physical activity. GET UP AND MOVE.
Many new ‘non -physically’ active forms of suffering are being sold to ward off ageing like cold showers, restrict calorie intake, IF, shun carbs, burn digestive tracts with spicy food etc. Except IF non of these is supported by solid evidence as a way to expand human longevity.
Regular physical activity is the most efficient and best way to delay senescence and extend life. Physically active people will have a lower baseline level of inflammation. Exercise also causes cells to clean out damaged proteins, lengthen telomeres, repair DNA and many more.
