Do you ever feel sluggish, or need a break?

A few days out of the month,

You feel SIGNIFICANTLY more tired.

These are signs of burnout.

These signs come from:

- Needing more sleep
- injuries/aches
- Headaches, sore eyes
- Weaker/more tired than usual

These are ways you can deal with burnout:

Instead of going 10/10 full throttle, hustle & conquer style,

You operate at a 6/10.

Take breaks,

Spend time with the family,

Lift lighter weights,

Watch shows, and think less.

In strength training, there’s a term for this description:

A deload.

Deloads assist in recovery after pushing the body at max capacity for weeks.

Every 4-6 weeks, your body requires a deload.

If you try pushing through extremely stressful times, burnout is imminent.

You’re more likely to give up, lose motivation, or even purpose.

Giving yourself the rest you need allows you to outwork the competition.

These principles apply all throughout your life.

Strength stagnating in the gym?

Take a week off and lift lighter than usual.

Project after project at work?

Find a couple days to decrease stress in between projects.

The 80/20 rule applies here.

If you’re working 80% of the time,

Take 20% of your time off.
