Things I've observed today:

A man with learning difficulties did not know his surname or phone number for test and protect. Just wanted to come into the library and sit down. Couldn't understand when we tried to explain why he couldn't do this.

A regular who cannot spell words like "jobs" and "Google" was being sent in by the jobcentre to do online job searches. We tried to assist him from 2m distance. Couldn't. Ended up being closer at points. He has a bad cough but was worried about being sanctioned.

Two young boys without face masks, refused to give details for trace and protect. Refused to take the spare face masks we offered out of our personal supply. Charged into the building anyway. We have no security.

Overcrowding. People refusing to queue outside. Crowding the doorway and not letting others out. Stalemate.

Library users thrusting their phones at me for help. Me backing away. Phones dropped. Curses. I apologised but they couldn't understand why I wouldn't come near them.
