#FourChildhoodToys I wish I kept...
These would be my next 4...
I REALLY wanted this as a kid...
I had hundreds of these... would spend HOURS standing them up as opposing armies - only to knock them down in a minute’s blitz...
The other thing I wanted as a kid... this!
And this...
Man alive... I wanted this soooooo much!
Oh boy, this is a rabbit-hole of memories... I loved this toy! Wish I kept it!
Jesus-H-Christ! I had 2 of these! I loved putting my soldiers on the ‘closed’ top and flipping them to reveal the missile... (just seen the price of it too... 😱😱😱😱)
I also had this, which was waaay more disappointing than it looks...
Loved this - so many cool sound effects!
I had all of these... why did I not keep them!!!
Speaking of ‘disappointing’ Kenner sets... I hated this... the only good thing was sinking all the figures you didn’t like into the foam ‘swamp’...
Just been reminded of these 2! I had both and would fire the plastic disks at anything that moved!
Of all my Star Wars figures... this was, without doubt, my favourite...
Holy smoke! I had this!
This was also a very cool ship - never had the tie fighter, but loved the way the ‘wings’ could fall off in combat!
I always felt slight underwhelmed by the ‘Battle Damaged’ X-wing for some reason...
But this, this was waaaay more satisfactory! Plus you could store a ton of figures inside in a hurry!
I loved the way this bike ‘blew up’... and the little flaps on the back...
Away from Star Wars - this was played on repeat... I loved this game!
Hated these, had quite a few but none of them really made any sense...
Before Star Wars, I was big into dinosaurs, I had a load of these - my fave was the stegosaurus...
My parents tried to channel my inner engineer with this... all I remember is cutting my fingers...
I didn’t have Scaletric when I was kid, but I did have this!
Bike-wise, I had two growing up: the cool-looking Boxer (which I LOVED), and the uncool BMX wannabe, Grifter XL which weighed more than a chieftain tank...
Man... just remembered THIS! I loved that Batmobile with the missiles and flick-out blade on the front...
Alright, watches... here’s what I had through my childhood...
Outdoors, and ‘this’ was what I was throwing into the air and watching drift into the neighbours tree... and if it wasn’t that, then I was recreating dogfights with bits of coloured polystyrene and a plastic propeller...
A few other SW things I had back in the day...
Never had this - but wanted it BAAAAD!
My nextdoor neighbour had this, I loved playing with it purely for the tree closing/opening mechanism!
Played a lot of this back in the day...
This still gives me nightmares...
Always wanted this...
However, burn this with fire...
Continuing in the ‘Give-your-grandparents-a heart-attack-on-Christmas-Day’ look at games... here’s a b*stard game to chill the blood...
I had this! Can’t remember if it was any good tho...
Remembered I had this...
I had this... why did I get rid of it? WHY?!
Some more RPGs, now just a distant memory... 😱
Always miffed this never had any sound effects...
I was too old for this as a kid... but also, as an older kid, I would stare at it with envy knowing I would play the sh*t out of it, if I did have it...
Though these were all the rage, mine were yellow and blue... it was the 80's which meant clashing colours were a prerequisite...
As a kid, I'd pour over a toy catalogue looking for stuff I knew I'd never get... things like this were the stuff of dreams...
