If you asked me which book on the list is the SCARIEST, it’s “I Remember You.”

Also, even though “The Elementals” is one of my all-timers, just go in knowing it’s a bit dated (dialect for Odessa) and even though she’s the best/coolest character it’s got Magical Negro vibes.
I will never recover from “I Remember You” and the film adaptation on Netflix really does it justice.
(It’s originally in Icelandic and when I mentioned on Insta that my dad and I were reading it together, Yrsa Sigurðardóttir HERSELF, the AUTHOR, said she was glad we were into it.)
