Okay, that should be a good start. I’m missing some great ones bc I had to stop somewhere.

I will do one for horror novels eventually.

Oh, I didn’t include MARIANNE bc it is a miniseries but it’s TERRIFYING.

I assumed I put The Descent up top bc it’s so obvious, do not watch the horrible sequel.

Many of these movies have extremely horrible things in them (looking at you, Martyrs) so if you have things you absolutely cannot handle, pls research before you watch.

Oh, like with The Descent, I assumed I had already put The Strangers on the list.

IF you are grateful that I compiled this list, I need to formally request you watch “A Dark Song,” the movie I put at the top, because it is truly extraordinary. It is not on Netflix anymore. I think you can see it if you do a free trial of IFC Films, but @LiamGavin would know.

It was truly a religious experience, and all of the occult-y people in my life were impressed by how accurate it was. Also, the decision to NOT show all of the Abramelin ritual so no one does it for fun. The ending is BEYOND and I cannot imagine another movie that could stick it.
