SPICY HOT TAKE but you really can't separate Harry Potter from J.K. Rowling; the series is absolutely rooted in her worldview and its morals are ones that are consistent with Rowling's morals
Just as you can't separate C.S. Lewis's Christianity from his works, or Tolkein's eugenics-influenced imperialism from his works, you cannot separate Rowling's soft-focus authoritarianism from hers.
And it is authoritarianism--where spirit and body are willingly sacrificed, identity muted, and where learning to accept that the people in charge of your life don't have to tell you the truth in order for you to be devoted to them is the ultimate goal
where the goal is essentially a return to a status quo and revolutionary aesthetic is invoked in order to make it seem like following one cryptic, distant authority rather than another is the same thing as true social change
And I understand death of the author and how to interpret a text but Rowling is still very much alive and interacting with her own text in a way that kinda forces the audience to acknowledge she still sees herself as in control of that text
So it's entirely within her own parameters to suggest the text reflected and continues to reflect her morals and values
