I have been chewing on this line of thinking obsessively for #Pentola, focusing on building tools for running the game and support for play at the table; I& #39;m most concerned with this as a ref because while I can just wing things endlessly, I find having some structure helps me. https://twitter.com/Pandatheist/status/1305958380964638720">https://twitter.com/Pandathei...
This is why I& #39;ve been designing hearsay incitements/clocks, NPCs, event tables, faction generators, conflict sources, etc.

But beyond just the content I& #39;m trying to dial in an interface to it, to smooth the path for me when I run games and help formalize a bit of the process.
Not everyone needs this, which means you can just snag the content and ignore the worksheets and stuff, but I find that this really helps me think about running games and also helps me try to finagle my way to shorter play structures as my table-time continues to shrink hugely.
I wanna figure out how to get a good tasty enjoyable session in under 45m of play. I& #39;m not so worried about supporting 2h+ games, lots of refs have been building up that skillset. But lunch hour games? Those *feel* harder to pull off, especially for social/intrigue games!
So: worksheets, anti-canonical generators, tips, tools, play aids. More skilled folks than me have likely already been engaging in this space, I just don& #39;t see it talked about as much (which doesn& #39;t mean it isn& #39;t being discussed, just that I& #39;m missing those discussions ofc!)
