Wanna know why someone eating a 1200 calorie diet isn’t losing weight ?

The majority will say well they aren’t really eating 1200 calories. They probably aren’t tracking everything.

This could be true. In fact the majority of time it usually is. People tend to underestimate.
What could also be true is that their metabolism has slowed dramatically.

Think of your metabolism as a fire. Keep adding logs and it gets bigger.

What happens when you take a log out? And then another, and another? Fire gets smaller.
Calorie deficits work but you can’t be in one forever. You can’t just keep lowering and lowering calories to lose weight.

This is a dangerous practice I’ve seen some coaches employ and it only leads to metabolic damage and a really fucked up relationship with food.
Low calorie diets cause spikes in cortisol, low progesterone, low testosterone, estrogen dominance, decreased thyroid function, fatigue, inflammation, gut problems, and more.

Now calorie deficits do work when done correctly.
However, not everyone is ready to be in a fat loss phase. If a client comes to me on a 12-1500 calorie diet and isn’t losing weight there is no way in hell I am decreasing calories.

So what can be done ?

Diet breaks
Reverse dieting
Carb Cycling
Fasting
Better sleep patterns
