Most startup entrepreneurs who become successful don't get there until they're over 40. Some of the best writers started after 40 too. It's nice to acknowledge potential but also there's a lot to be said for getting better and more resilient with experience. https://twitter.com/karenkho/status/1301184177967071234
The truth is this: Very few people face a true crisis of career faith until they hit 35 or so and family (elderly or babies) becomes an issue. Almost everyone you know reinvented themselves ages 37-40. That's a much more interesting story than straight lines.
What's interesting is that women, especially, tend to find their groove and success -- as writers or runners or anything -- after 40 or even 50 when family is less of a concern for them. Some reading: https://longreads.com/2018/11/28/emerging-as-a-writer-after-40/
