Productivity Thread #4:

Money isn't your most valuable resource.

Time is. Why? It's the ONLY truly limited resource.

You need to budget time like you budget money.

A time budget is also called... a schedule.

In this thread, I'll teach you how to quickly make a schedule!

⏬
You invest money. Maybe not into stocks, but into your

- car
- home
- activities

If you want returns (or things), you have to invest money.

Time works the same way.

You invest time into

- work
- people
- activities

Better investments = better returns.

If you're not scheduling your days, you're wasting a lot of time.

Let's fix that.

Grab a blank piece of paper and a pen.

Write the days along the top of the page.

Write the hours (going from 12am to 11pm) along the left side.

One hour per line.

⏬
Step 1) Write in your main obligations.

This means work and/or classes.

For example:

If you work weekdays from 9am to 5pm, draw a rectangle from 9am to 5pm every weekday.

Write the word "work" inside each one.

⏬
Step 2) Write in what time you should be going to bed and waking up.

If you're trying to get a full 8 hours of sleep each night,

Maybe your sleep block should be 10pm - 6am.

Again, draw rectangles - one including 10pm and 11pm, another including 12am to 6am.

Label them.

⏬
Step 3) Write in any other regular obligations, events, and activities.

Example: I play D&D with friends every Saturday from 12pm to 8pm.

If you have things that are every other week, or inconsistent, then maybe make 2 separate schedules.

Draw rectangles, and label them.

⏬
Step 4) Plan out time to do things you WANT to do.

Hobbies, side business work, going out, and so on.

This is actually the most important reason why you should make a schedule!

Ever struggled to find time to do things?

This step will make it MUCH easier for you.

⏬
For me, I schedule time each day for:

- reading for 30 minutes

- writing Twitter content

- catching up on emails and Twitter DMs

This has made me MUCH more productive.

Dedicating time on my schedule means I ACTUALLY do them!

⏬
Scheduling is all about being intentional with your time.

If you don't dedicate time to do things, then you won't do them.

Instead, you'll lay around watching Netflix feeling lost.

Remember: Better investments lead to better returns.

Try it for yourself!
