You don’t need to be smart.

You just have to not be dumb.

How? you ask.

Let me explain.
It seems we’ve entered a new age of “hacks and tricks” to optimize everything.

From health & nutrition to finances and getting rich.

Everyone is looking for the smart new hack to put them over the top.

“The one thing that nobody else knows about.”
Every media outlet and almost every headline about self-improvement saying the same thing.

“The hack nobody is talking about.”
Do you know why these headlines work?

Because people are lazy.

Simple as that. No more, no less.

Everybody knows how you get jacked.

You go to the gym a few times a week. Lift progressively heavier weights. Eat more protein.

Do this consistently forever.
You’ll start seeing changes in a few months.

You’ll also lose everything you gained in a few months if you stop.

But nobody wants to hear that.

People want that new secret hack that will get them jacked without having to do it the way everyone else is doing it.
The way people have been doing it for thousands of years.

Through consistent, tedious, basic work.

This is not just about working out.

This applies to everything in life.

This is people trying to be smarter than their peers.
Meanwhile, they are eating pizza and take out a few times a week.

Hitting the bars for happy hour after work for some beers every other day.

Snacking on chips, chocolate, and candy when they're bored.
Spending more time researching tricks to working out then actually in the gym working out…

When all they had to do, was stop trying to be smarter and just stop being dumb.

The fundamentals are all there and known.
All you needed to do was half-ass them and you would STILL be doing better than everyone in the office.

Now, if you actually followed them.

Ate quality foods, slept well, trained consistently, avoided junk, and cut down drinking to certain occasions.
You would be a brand new person within 6 months.

And everyone in the office would be eyeing you from afar.

Wondering what new hack you found to get this transformation.

So comes in the number 1 lesson:

Stop trying to be smart.

Just don’t be dumb.
Work on the basics.

Day in and day out.

While they search for shortcuts.

You are already doing the work.

And the next thing you know.

Things start to fall in place.

Because you see, all these “hacks” are fake news.
They are just repackaging the basics into a fancy box and selling it to you.

Both the buyer and seller knowing damn well that they won’t even be using it.
That they are just buying a way to feel good about themselves for a little while because they are too lazy to do the actual work.

This is called the “Addition by Subtraction Model”

Popularized by Charlie Munger.
He said, "All I want to know is where I’m going to die so I never go there.”

What did you mean by this?

Stop doing the things that are killing you, and will already be winning, because that’s what the rest of the world is busy doing.
See while the majority are busy drinking, shopping, overeating, and being lazy.

All you need to do is avoid these things.

And by avoiding them, you position yourself at a HUGE advantage.
It’s never been easier to be successful at something and in the top 10%.

Because people have never been lazier and more addicted to things that are horrible for them.
Avoid sloth, and see yourself rise to power.

Master the fundamentals.

Avoid the mainstream way of operating.

Be consistent.

Be hard working.
