me trying frantically to think of reasons they would've broken up that would make them getting back together not super complicated and painful for me

maybe they just got placed at different stations and the stress of living so far apart doing the jobs they do made their relationship untenable and they're both so angry at each other because they wish it hadn't happened the way it did

maybe they didn't do or say anything super cruel and painful to each other over the course of their breakup and their friends didn't have to choose sides and somehow eddie ended up alone i'm i'm i'm i'm
