what's a story behind a popular song that you think about often? mine is that the guy who wrote Hey There Delilah wasnt dating Delilah at all. He met her once & wrote the song & she was like "uh cool song about how we're in love please don't kill me haha". I think about it A Lot.
and then Matt Lauer asked Delilah if she was more excited to watch a guy she met ONCE win a Grammy for a song he wrote about her, or for HERSELF FOR COMPETING IN THE OLYMPICS. the headline simply referred to her a "muse" and not "olympic athlete." sexism in the late 2000s was lit
while ur here, i wrote a book called How To Be Alone, it is largely about how the music/tv/movies we consume influence what we perceive as normal about love/connection/gender, which is uh relevant to this thread. pls buy it for urself and ur local fuckboys https://bookshop.org/books/how-to-be-alone-if-you-want-to-and-even-if-you-don-t/9781501178832

should I keep writing this parody song and post it, or get a life?
