In the spirit of community that Pokemon has always engendered I want to share with you the work I do in Spain with homeless/abandoned/sick/injured cats!! I take them in and name them after Pokemon & I have my own little Pokemon sanctuary now

I am not an official rescue organization...it's just me and my husband & kid. In the part of Spain in which I live, cats aren't treated very well by some people. There aren't many rescue groups around who will take in unwanted cats.

So I do what I can. I work out of my own home and I rely on the kindness of Internet Strangers to help me keep going and rescuing more cats. So now I'm gonna show you some of the wonderful Pokemon in my sanctuary

This is Jirachi. Her former owner went back to the US and while they took the family dog, they didn't want to take their cat. So she lives with me now

Exeggutor and Cacturne were part of a colony of barn cats. When I found them their eyes were almost ruined by ulcers & scar tissue but we got to them in time and both can see

We found Giratina all alone in the street while walking around with friends and playing PokemonGO together! We were doing Giratina raids so of course that's how he got the name

Nidoran was part of a stray cat colony but the bigger males were beating him up and he was skinny and sad looking so I took him home

Shuppet adopted herself! We found her hiding in our basement and we took the hint and let her state

Misdreavus was another former stray. When we found her she was sick and wounded--her tail had been nearly cut off and she had a hernia. We took her in and she decided she preferred being a housecat!

Vulpix was another cat who belonged to a colony but was getting beaten up by other males. We weren't sure he'd adjust to life indoors but he has! Beautifully!

Mareep, Wooloo, and Cyndaquil were more dumpster babies I took in. Wooloo needed to be bottlefed she was so tiny.

Reshiram and her brother (who was adopted!) came to me because the man who owns their mother refuses to get the cat fixed and threatened to kill the babies if he couldn't find someone to take them :(

Gastly and Litwick are sisters. They were found when they were less than a week old and we bottlefed them until they were ready to be weaned. Their two siblings were adopted but nobody wanted them so they're still with me

Rhyperior was brought inside by another cat rescuer, along with her son. Her baby was adopted out but nobody wanted her and she became incredibly depressed. Now she's with me and she's a wonderful foster mother to our baby kittens

Magnemite and Tyranitar were local strays who were skinny and sickly. We brought them in and they decided they enjoyed being hosuecats!

Ok! I won't keep on clogging up your Twitter feed with photos but these are some of the Pokemon cats I care for (yes I have more lmao). It's difficult and exhausting and sometimes heartbreaking and there are some days I don't know how I get through
But it's worth it for them
