Self-care is really important. It's needed for maintaining good mental health and helps us do a better job. People ask me about self-care and often don't know where to start, so here are some work-related practicable tips you can do today:

- 🕒 Set 15 mins in your schedule as a meeting. Use this time for you. Get a coffee, do some reading (for fun), meditate... do something that makes you feel relaxed and helps reduce your stress levels. Most if us can find 15 mins a day to do this. 2/
- 🚶‍♀️Go for a walk over your lunch break. We all need to eat. If you aren't taking time for lunch, now is the time to factor that in too. You aren't a robot. You need food to keep you sharp. 3/
- 🚧 Set a boundary between work and your end of the day. Build in something you do to signal to yourself to switch off. Clean your desk. Go for a walk. Archive those pesky emails. This way you can start to encourage your brain to switch off at the end of the day. 4/
- 🍯Create a worry jar, or worry book, where you write down your worries and concerns. I find this helps with anxiety. Once they are in the book/jar, let them go if you can. They are the worry books problem now, not yours. 5/
- 👐 Reach out to colleagues and check in with them, see how they are doing and ask if they need any help. Often we feel better helping others. 6/
- 📄Prioritise your work. Make lists and break the problems down into today's 'definite' tasks, today's 'maybes' and today's 'definitely not', to help avoid feeling overwhelmed with the tasks you have to do. 7/
