I hope I don't get cancelled for saying this, but I understand what Nick Cannon was trying to say, even though he said it the wrong way.

Do the Jews "control" the media? No. That's just silly.

Are there many older Jewish men in positions of power in Hollywood? Yes.
It's extremely unwise to every attempt to paint any group as a monolith, especially because so much of Hollywood isn't Jewish.

Nick Cannon is probably just frustrated because he feels his culture (black culture) isn't fairly represented by television.
It was hard for Donald Glover/Childish Gambino to find a home for his shoe Atlanta, and I don't think it's a stretch to say Atlanta is a hit show.

The problem that you run into, especially in Hollywood, is young black writers are pitching their ideas to old white Jewish men.
Are all producers and show-runners in Hollywood Jewish? Once again. No.

But many are. I'd even venture to say, relative to the population, Jewish men are probably over-represented in Hollywood.

I don't have any data on it, just personal experience. Anyway...
Nick Cannon went on to wax poetic about some pretty insane conspiracies about Jewish bloodlines, central banking, and even named-dropped the Rothschilds.

That's definitely not what's going on in Hollywood. The moment you cross that line, you uhm... you're going to anger people.
If Nick Cannon had simply said, "I'm frustrated because I keep pitching ideas about black culture to tables of old Jewish white men." - he may have exposed some truths.

I know this, because in an interview a while back, Donald Glover talked about that being his experience in LA.
Black men and black women are tragically under-represented in Hollywood, especially in positions of authority.

Tyler Perry never comes right out and says it, but that's why he built that massive studio complex in Atlanta. He couldn't break through, so he built his own Hollywood.
Despite how Nick Cannon might feel, what he said about Jewish people took one problem (black people not getting a fair shot in Hollywood), and managed to create another problem.

Jewish people aren't some giant cabal of control. Anyone saying that doesn't know Jewish people.
Seriously, if you think "Jews are conspiring against you" -- go have dinner with a Jewish family.

You won't find a group of people who love arguing with each other more than a Jewish family.

Jewish mothers are the LeBron James of petty bickering.
The problem here is that Nick Cannon is a popular figure in black America. People listen to him. When he starts rattling off anti-Semitism, people take notes.

I'm not sure who put those ideas in his head, but those ideas are wrong, and they need to be denounced.
Conspiracy theories and anti-Semitism tend to fill in gaps when people ask questions, but don't get answers.

I'm sure Nick Cannon wasn't getting satisfactory answers as to why old white guys weren't more receptive to his ideas, so someone said, "Hey Nick. It's the JEWS!"
In summation: Are there a lot of wealthy, old, out of touch white guys in positions of power in entertainment? Yes.

Does this have anything to do with a few of them being Jewish? No.

It's just a fine blend of wealth and centuries of whiteness.
