One thing that everyone including my father gets wrong about Jaws is that they all think Jaws killed Ben Gardner. But that’s wrong. Ben Gardner was murdered by Quint, his local fishing rival.

The body turns up at the beach, Quint recognized it was a shark attack, he saw his chance and killed his rival Ben Gardner and planted a Great White Tooth at the scene. Everyone fell for it—except Jaws, who followed the Orca out to sea to kill Quint (also why he let my dad live)

Some of you might say “Jaws is a shark and sharks can’t seek revenge,” but to that I say, in the Jaws Universe, sharks generally—and the Jaws family specifically—can seek revenge as evident in the film "Jaws: The Revenge," when Jaws’ mom follows Brody’s wife to the Bahamas.

I have been meaning to write a post about The Real Story Behind Ben Gardner’s Death for 5 years and always get distracted and don’t do it. Maybe I will actually write it tomorrow.

I once got so close to writing it that I wrote my dad an email “requesting comment on the truth about ben Gardner” & his response was “this is idiotic” lol. But what does he know? He’s just a dumbfuck actor! He read some lines like a little wind-up circus monkey. He doesn’t know!

I’m FB friends with Carl Gottlieb who is the co-writer of the screenplay and every time I’ve started writing him a note about this I’ve gotten embarrassed and stopped. Lol

I just sent a 900 word email to the screenwriter of Jaws explaining this theory and requesting a comment lol
