“You need a very strong will in order to adopt the Four Agreements.

But if you can begin to live your life with these agreements, the transformation in your life will be amazing."
"You will see the drama of hell disappear right before your very eyes. Instead of living in a dream of hell, you will be creating a new dream—your personal dream of heaven.”

Agreement 1:

-Be Impeccable with Your Word-

➡ Never use your word against others in blaming, criticizing, or gossiping

Blaming and criticizing others will get you nowhere. In the words of @naval it's a status game. watch out for these traps.

Gossiping is a fool's errand.
➡ Always honor your commitments and only make commitments you intend to follow through on.

Your word is your bond. In a society where relationships seem to be getting weaker. And commitments mean less and less.

Stand true to your word, this will take you farther than you know
➡ Don’t use your word against yourself indulging in guilt or shame.

If you don't use your own words and subconscious to your advantage.

You already lost.

Be confident in yourself.

If you speak highly of yourself, it shows in the way you talk, move, and behave.
2nd Agreement:

-Don't Take Anything Personally-

Imagine a man comes to you and calls you stupid.

Why would you take it personally?

Do you believe him?

Do you really think you are stupid?

If not then who cares.

What he says is not about you, it's about him.
This is one of the most consistent lessons I've seen in books of wisdom.

One very well taught by the Stoic Philosopher such as Marcus Aurelius.

The only thing we can control is our attitudes and our actions.

Everything else is beyond our control

Don't worry about all that
3rd Agreement:

-Don't Make Assumptions-

We all do this, and it always leads to issues that could have been prevented so easily by...

Not making assumptions.

What does this mean?

Let's give an example: If you are not getting sales on your e-book.
That does not mean your book sucks

That your writing sucks

And you should quit.

There are a million reasons that could be looked at:

How's your sales pitch?

Are your followers interested in what you have to offer?

How's the name and cover?
The point is always to ask, seek information, seek out your friends and family's advice.

If you think someone is mad at you, ask them!

Don't just assume, this leads to negative thinking and ends up making things worst.
- Learn to communicate clearly.

- Be courageous

- Be confident in yourself

- Always Be Humble

- Stay true to your passions

- Stay true to yourself
The 4th Agreement:

-Always Do Your Best-

Always, no matter the task, do your best.

You will have good days

You will have bad days

And that's ok.

Nobody is ON 100% of the time.

This is Human Nature.

But regardless of how it is, do your best, even on off days.
If you can do this, you are already on your path to living a successful life.

We live in a society of comfort and unfortunately, it's making us lazy.

Very rare is the man that does his best work.

This can be due to many things, the big one being lack of passion.
It's hard to do your best when you lack passion In what you do.

That's why it's so important to find something you like.

Don't live your whole life doing something you hate.
“Who stops us from being free? We blame the government, we blame the weather, we blame our parents, we blame religion, we blame God. Who really stops us from being free? We stop ourselves.”
You control your destiny.

Everything you do is a result of your actions.

Control your thoughts.

Control your actions.

Control your life.
These are the 4 agreements you need to have with yourself.

In order to set yourself free.

And live the life you love.
