Okay, so...

I'm a huge @alyankovic fan. Have been for over half my life now. And I mean a HUGE Weird Al fan, to the point where I see multiple live shows every tour and collect his rarities and such.
And as part of my fandom, every week I search YouTube for "Weird Al" with the "This Week" upload date filter, just to make sure I don't miss it if, say, anyone dug up and uploaded a decent-quality recording of "Snack All Night" or something.
So while doing that just now...I came across THIS video, which I watched out of curiosity.

I'm very very very very VERY sorry I did.
I'll describe the video for you, because I love you people which means I don't want to forcibly subject you to it.

It opens with a weird redhead lady sarcastically saying "Oh no, not that! How DARE he do that!" in a faux-"Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children?" voice.
Her opening theme plays. "MechaRandom42" hovers over a bad CGI hellscape background. No music. Very unsettling.

Weird Redhead Lady introduces herself and the topic at hand - she is visibly ANGRY, shaking with rage in fact. She demonstrably can't even.
"I guess NOTHING IS SAFE! Not even America's favorite PG-rated parody songster accordion player extraordinaire "Weird Al" Yankovic! Oh, I know! I'm as shocked as you guys are!"
She's angry that we live in such a cruel world full of easily-offended idiots so ravenously cancel-hungry that they've even gone after such a pure soul as Weird Al.

At this point, I'm very confused.
Like I said, I follow Al's career very closely. This is literally the first I'm hearing about anyone canceling Weird Al. I am curious where she's going with this, and starting to get impatient for details.
About a minute in, having given no details whatsoever, she says "What did you do that's so offensive, Weird Al? (sigh) As if we didn't already know."

Um...I don't know, Weird Redhead Lady. And I kinda feel like I'm the type who'd be the first to know.
She stalls a bit longer. She plays some ominous dramatic music. She asks "What's wrong, here?"

She takes out a riding crop and starts hitting her own wrist with it for no readily-available reason.
At this point I'm starting to wonder if this is some sort of elaborate Andy Kaufman-esque routine, like that @TVsAndyDaly bit about the hack comedian who goes through the traditional stand-up rhythms without actually having any material. If it is, I've seen it done better.
Two minutes in, still no details. She asks again: "What did Weird Al do that is so wrong, so horrible, so insensitive that people are just up in arms over THIS TIME?"

Again, I don't know, Weird Redhead Lady. I'm starting to get impatient, quite frankly.
"Every day it's another thing, isn't it? Every day it's something. And it's not even Weird Al they're upset with, but I'm just waiting for it!"

Wait what?

First you say people are upset with Weird Al, then you say no they aren't but maybe they potentially someday will be?
She bemoans that "people just follow the herd and do whatever they're told." To further illustrate this, she shows a video of sheep.

Anyone who disagrees with her on this particular issue is sheep, y'see. Following the herd.
She hasn't actually specified the issue yet, but she HAS already pre-emptively called you subhuman if you disagree with her on whatever the issue is. She does this to helpfully inform you of what your opinion must be (hers), so you can avoid being an easily-led sheep.
Two minutes and forty seconds into this just-under-six-minute-long video, Weird Redhead Lady finally gives a single specific as to why people are or maybe aren't angry at Weird Al.

"It's the Hawaiian shirt."
She posts a screencap of THIS article, which details the white supremacist "Boogaloo Boys" movement, in which Hawaiian shirts have become the latest de rigueur innocent symbol co-opted into an alt-right dogwhistle, just like Pepe and the "ok" hand gesture. https://www.instyle.com/fashion/hawaiian-shirts-alt-right-white-supremacy-protestors
At no point does that article even so much as mention Weird Al.

Because Weird Al has literally nothing to do with this nonsense.

Weird Al has been wearing Hawaiian shirts for literally decades now. Look, here he is in 1984 wearing one!
So yes, Weird Redhead Lady, anyone who says Weird Al is a white supremacist just because he's worn Hawaiian shirts for decades is obviously stupid and should be called stupid.

Is...anyone actually SAYING that?
At the three-minute mark, she says, "Y'know what, sure, I'm gonna monetize this nonsense." So, openly admitting she's just making this video for the money, regardless of whether there's an opinion worth having on this thing.
She reiterates, "I am tired of this cancel culture sheep mentality where everything is problematic." She looks like she's on the verge of tears, and she still has yet to give a single example of anyone actually calling Al problematic for his wardrobe.
"Everything that ever has existed will offend somebody, everything that will exist will offend somebody in the future!"

Lady literally the only offended person I see right now is you
She reiterates, "I will make money off of the stupidity of the people who are offended by everything. I'm not even gonna read their crappy article."

oh you haven't even READ the article?

well this is my shocked face
Inflecting what can only be described as a Karen whine, she says "If it was offensive then the people would've said something years ago about it, right?"

Well, no, because white supremacists only recently adopted Hawaiian shirts as an arbitrary symbol.
She seems to think it's mainly Hawaiian people getting offended, even though if she'd read the article she'd know that's not the case...then she trails off and plugs her channel and her livestreams.

Wasn't this supposed to be about Weird Al?
"I am not going to be outraged on behalf of anybody on this one."

Was anyone asking you to? Also you kinda are.

"I am not going to go and jump on the 'cancel Weird Al' bandwagon."

What bandwagon? There's no band, let alone a wagon for that band! Give ONE actual example, lady!
And then, FINALLY, four and a half minutes into it, she does give an example.

Kinda.

She openly says, "It's not even a thing. Nobody's actually wanting to cancel him, except for one person in my Twitter feed making a random comparison."

THIS obvious joke tweet, to be exact.
So in other words...NO ONE IS ACTUALLY ANGRY ABOUT THIS.

One guy made a joke tweet and Weird Redhead Lady made a whole-ass video IMAGINING that people might be angry about it at some point in the future maybe.

Are y'all starting to see why I don't make daily videos?
Then, having admitted that this is Not A Thing, she still tries to rile up her audience in righteous anger against the Non-Thing.
"It's ridiculous, I'm tired of this stuff. Are you guys tired of this too?"

If by "this" you're referring to YouTube grifters like yourself who make fake outrage out of literally nothing for a living?

Then yes. Very very tired indeed.
She goes on to condemn the "ree-ing mentality" (her word, not mine) "of people who go around being offended on behalf of everybody else" (seems objectively better than being offended on behalf of LITERALLY NOBODY but hey, you do you)...
...And she posits that twenty years or so from now, people who go around canceling everybody, will themselves be canceled and she will laugh at them.

When she herself has admitted that nobody is canceling Weird Al.

So she's waiting twenty years to laugh at nobody.
And she is ANGRY at this point too - she seriously looks like she's on the verge of tears as she says "If you don't stop this crap, you're next, and I'm gonna laugh about it"

nobody started this crap you very strange person
Oh and then she takes time to say "My viewers are NOT a bunch of mindless people! My viewers are actually pretty awesome. My viewers aren't this." Then she cuts back to the sheep clip.

Remember folks, you're only mindless sheep if you don't watch Weird Redhead Lady's videos.
Y'know, if I didn't know any better, I'd say that WRL has a weird kneejerk grudge against anyone calling literally anything offensive for literally any reason, because she doesn't like the idea of successful people facing consequences.
And she's stoking the fire of people who feel similarly by getting all offended at people calling things offensive. Even when they're not actually doing so.

Which, if you know basic math, makes HER, and only her, the easily-offended snowflake.
And of course, if you call her out on literally ANY of this, she'll hide behind "I'm just making money," like that excuses it. Like that doesn't just underline the raw cynicism of the whole sickening enterprise.
(sigh)

Look, I get that YouTube grifters gonna YouTube grift.

Just don't fucking bring Weird Al into it.

That's all I ask.
Yeah, I saw that too! Neat!

Ah. She's one of THOSE then.

"Fuck cancel culture and easily-offended people! Let's go back to the important work of canceling Brie Larson for offending me!" https://twitter.com/tyler_freshcorn/status/1275503686047989761
Either that, or she doesn't actually have a problem with Brie Larson, but was just making angry videos about her because everyone else was too.

But remember, it's everyone else who's a sheep.
