“Aku rasa dia marah kat aku”

“Mereka takkan terima permohonan kerja aku, I know”

Apa impak negative self-talk?

Paling simple nak ckp, impak buruk terhadap mental health.

Ini termasuklah stress, anxiety (keresahan), rasa helplessness (ketidakupayaan), dan depression (kemurungan).

Banyak lagi, but yg penting, membawa kesan buruk

So we know negative self-talk has a bad impact toward our mental health

Walaupun kita tahu tentang kesan buruknya, it is not easy to avoid negative self-talk

For many of us, it comes so naturally. Sudah menjadi kebiasaan. Bila nak berubah, susah, tapi possible

For now, we identify two of the most common types of negative self-talk

First is assumption.

Bila terjadinya sesuatu, we tend to assume a lot of things. Takde bukti or fakta, tapi dah fikir bukan².

Second type is overgeneralization

Sebagai contoh, dulu kita pernah membuat permohonan kerja or masuk uni. Tapi permohonan ditolak

So we generalize the past to the present or future. Kita fikir benda yang sama akan berlaku lagi. Macamlah benda tu dah pasti

Allah (SWT) said to Prophet (ﷺ):

Say, "I hold not for myself [the power of] benefit or harm, except what Allah has willed. And if I knew the unseen, I could have acquired much wealth, and no harm would have touched me . . ." (Quran, 7: part of verse 188)

Can relate back to the issue

We are His slaves. This world is not ours but His. Things will happen due to His Will.

So we do our best & then tawakkal
