Thread about me losing 170lbs, regaining 80lbs, and losing 90lbs

And how I became the Improvement Geek 🧠

In 2010, I was morbidly obese

I weighed over 360lbs and was pre-diabetic

I played World of Warcraft for 16 hours a day

I never went outside and had no friends

I dropped from 360lbs down to 240lbs in a year and a half

For the next few years, I bounced between 290lbs and 240lbs

Summer 2016, I was 290lbs

Summer 2017, I was 270lbs

Summer 2018, I was 220lbs

I was slowly losing weight, but I knew I could do better

I started reading self-help books to get a push towards finishing the battle

I quickly got tired of the cliches, so I started studying psychology and neuroscience

I started learning how my brain worked so I could improve myself

Then I realized I could help others by sharing my knowledge and experience

So last summer, I started the Improvement Geek project

Back to my weight:

In October 2018, I reached 190lbs!

A loss of 170lbs and 11lbs away from my goal of 179lbs!

The battle was almost over!

Almost...until I graduated.

In December 2018, I graduated and started my career

I thought that was the start of my new life

Thought I'd have it all figured out

Instead, I fell into a deep post-graduation rut

I struggled with depression, alcohol abuse, and binge eating

I was deeply dissatisfied with my new life, so I abused my mind and body

All along, I was helping other people with Improvement Geek

But I was struggling in my own life

It's an awful feeling to not be living the lessons you teach others

From January 2019 to May 2020, I rose back up to 270lbs

Now, the end of the battle begins

I've greatly improved myself over the past few weeks

I quit alcohol, caffeine, and artificial sweeteners

I improved my sleep schedule & started playing tennis

I've transformed myself once by losing 170lbs

I'm going to transform myself again by losing 90lbs

I'm also going to show you the journey, every step of the way

I'll share weekly updates with my progress starting Monday

Goal 1: 209lbs by December 1st, 2020

Goal 2: 179lbs by March 17th, 2021
