Well nerds, I fuckin' did it.

Took me a global pandemic and a damn quarantine, but I did it.

I figured out the precise chronological order of all the MCU movies (so far) BY SCENE.

I'm out of my Goddamn mind. You're welcome.
Now, a few caveats. Obviously, this only covers the 23 MCU movies so far. No ABC or Netflix TV shows, no shorts, no deleted scenes.

I only counted flashbacks when they could be easily isolated from their respective film's "present."
There are a few instances where I allowed the movies some creative editing license (like the sequence in Thor: The Dark World when it keeps cutting back-and-forth, heist movie-style, between Thor planning with the Warriors Three, and them executing that plan)...
And admittedly a LOT of this is just my own personal headcanon conjecture, but I've double- and triple-checked my work here and to my knowledge, none of this is contradictory.

Enjoy, people as insane as me!
VERY good question...it depends.

Like Smart Hulk says, they're not undoing the past, they're creating an all-new timeline, so for the MOST part, the time travel scenes should be watched with the rest of Endgame...with a few scant exceptions. https://twitter.com/GregPacknett/status/1265521187058221056
My rule was, I could only back up the Endgame time travel scenes into their proper "time" in non-redundant instances where a full scene, with a proper beginning, middle and end, was completely unaffected by the future Avengers' time-heist shenanigans. https://twitter.com/GregPacknett/status/1265521187058221056
So, basically only three scenes:
- The first 2014-era scene between Gamora, Nebula and Thanos, up to the moment where Nebula's synapses start fucking up
- The Avengers telling Hulk to take the stairs
- Hulk yelling "SO MANY STAIRS!" https://twitter.com/GregPacknett/status/1265521187058221056
And actually, y'know what? It occurs to me that by the time I got to Endgame, I was starting to get (relatively) lazy with this. If I REALLY wanted to keep this chronological, I should've grouped all the 2012/1970 time heist scenes together, then the 2013 time heist scenes...
...And then all the 2014 time heist scenes.

So here, after a brief skimming through Endgame, is a final screencap, expanding on the triple-digit items. Happy skipping!
And it probably goes without saying, but this chronological list is for SUPERFANS ONLY. If there's any films in the MCU you haven't seen yet, I strongly advocate ignoring my list altogether and deferring to how the filmmakers wanted them seen.
BUT, if you're already a huge superfan who just wants to view them chronologically, by all means enjoy!
And, since this is starting to seriously blow up, if you're interested in my OTHER stuff, I have a podcast, @efvdpodcast, all about some of the OTHER shit to be found on @disneyplus (currently on pandemic hiatus, but I have nineteen episodes archived) https://escapefromvaultdisney.libsyn.com/
It's difficult to retain something I never had in the first place. https://twitter.com/Anish008Singh/status/1265527497506070529
If I was to make a Bingo card of reactions to this thread, "Someone should edit this for real!" would be the free space.
Wait, really?

(Checks that scene in Iron Man 2)

HOLY SHIT YOU'RE RIGHT, FUCK! https://twitter.com/susaga_dabeta1/status/1265744424119779330
ALSO, it occurs to me that way too much happens in The Incredible Hulk (the 17-day jump between the incident in Brazil and Banner's arrival at Culver University, for example) for it to all have happened between the climax of IM2 and that "consultant" scene...
...So I'll have to move some of the Incredible Hulk stuff earlier.

And speaking of Hulk, THIS has come to my attention: https://twitter.com/Lord_Dragonzord/status/1265787854279434240
I just rewatched the opening credits sequence of Incredible Hulk, and damn it, @Lord_Dragonzord is right too. At one point a computer screen says Banner attempted to contact Betty Ross in 2006, which means the incident must have happened before that.
That's what I get for not paying close-enough attention, I guess.

So, REVISION! Replace #20-44 with all THIS, and move everything below it down six spaces. Thanks for informing me, @susaga_dabeta1 and @Lord_Dragonzord!

Oh and, uh, @timleftwich? Heh heh, funny story...
