I think the sort of cis straight dude that frightens me most on an individual level is the J0ss Wh*don, Qu*ntin T*arantino type; the inc*l-adjacent type, the kind of dude who manages to leverage charm/humor & to attain social power & prestige but still has that core of anger

The type of dude who builds a personality based on being a nerd and being an edgy, funny, "intellectual." Who sees himself as both eminently superior to those around him but also underappreciated, not getting all that he is entitled to

The type of dude who knows a few of the right words to make himself sound progressive. Feminist even (see Wh*don). Who believes there's a sort of artistic justification for finding personal enjoyment & gratification in the suffering of those weaker than him

Their intellectualism is always just a house of cards built to justify their anger stemming from some inner sense of "not getting what they deserve."

They think they are entitled to the attention, the adoration, the uncritical love of ppl--especially women

And the media they create is always always ALWAYS built on torturing women. The media they create wants to convince you that the way THEY torture women is PROGRESSIVE. It's FEMINIST. It's ART. And thus immune from being problematic

And I mention the famous dudes because it's an easy shorthand to get my meaning across but obviously the famous ones aren't dangerous to me personally on an individual level

But there are so many dudes just like them who aren't famous & thus even more angry

Oh man, if dudes think they're gonna come into my mentions blaming this type of behavior on "mental health" and telling me if I "cared about mental health" I'd be more sympathetic they're better off not wasting my goddamn time because mentally ill ppl like me don't need ur crap

And of course these dudes are nearly always white but the media they produce nearly always appropriates from non-white cultures (T@rantino and his kung-fu stuff, Wh*don and Firefly)

They glorify in violence against all women but against women of color their violence becomes even more extreme, even more dehumanizing.

They'll pay a sort of lip-service to being anti-racist, just like they pay lip service to feminism. They think they're creating a sort of equality of torment by including characters of color when really they just lack any sense of power structures b/c they're incredibly selfish
