Want to be one of the best places for women to work in 2020?

Snacks and cool game rooms won’t get you there.

Focus on these instead ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Equal pay.

The majority of unpaid labor at home still falls on women. If you want to support your female team members, do so by first demonstrating equal pay so they can get the help they need.
Office managers ➡️ home office managers.

WFH requires a place to focus. Many people are still working from couches or dining tables.

Make sure your teams have chairs, desks and the appropriate tech to get their jobs done.
Create a culture of “Micro flexibility”.

Work life and family life have been completely integrated and the 9-5 is no longer feasible for most.

Allow employees to work when is best for them.

How does this work?
Communication
Clear goals
Empathy
Trust
Outcomes over output.

The companies with clear operating rhythm and goal setting process will stand out.
WFH as a homeschool parent is impossible.

How can companies support?
One word: childcare

Figure out how to get affordable childcare for your working parents if schools are canceled in the fall.
Listen and respond.

Companies should take the time to learn the dynamic needs of employees throughout COVID and iterate based on their unique workforce.
Empathetic leaders.

Leadership training on how to lead with empathy and vulnerability can make a huge impact as everyone navigates the pandemic differently.
Mental and physical health support.

Access or budgets to digital therapy and fitness classes. Talk openly and often about usage - possibly incentivize usage as well!
