My planned 2020 book tour relied heavily on Comic Con-style events, and it has been fascinating to see how different shows handle rescheduling and cancellation. I’d bet most of it has to do with insurance — for example, voluntarily postponing vs being shut down by the government.
One slightly terrifying show had a lot of bravado and all their communication was “we’re going on no matter what!” and they’ve now rescheduled for the third time because the local government has asked them to postpone.

But their third date still feels impossibly soon.
At least for now I don’t need to make any difficult choices — as long as the US-Canada border remains closed to non-essential travel, decisions are out of my hands. But we’re creeping up on some shows that I figure will try to go forwards.
This thread brought to you by waiting on hold with a hotel in Las Vegas to discuss refunding my prepaid, no refunds room since Amazing Las Vegas postponed until 2021 this morning.
