My blog on the COVID risks faced by *population* during the peak of the epidemic (great ONS E+W data)
https://medium.com/@d_spiegel/what-are-the-risks-of-covid-and-what-is-meant-by-the-risks-of-covid-c828695aea69 1 in 1800 died over 5 weeks. Risks doubled if a man, and for each 6–7 years extra age: compared to 20-year-old, an 80-year-old had ~ 500 times risk
Over 5 weeks: for over 45s, possibility of catching virus and then dying added risk roughly equivalent to an extra 3 weeks of normal risk. For 15-45s, added around 1 week of normal risk. For under 15s, a negligible extra risk (2 in 10 million)
