don& #39;t care about alison roman in any way but I& #39;m just gonna say it: lots of people are trying to make it about anti-asian racism and... I think it& #39;s a stretch. being disproportionately accused of selling out is not, like, a thing we& #39;re targeted with or actually suffer from
also it& #39;s pretty obvious that her & #39;please to& #39; comment is a russian ESL joke, both from her posting history and the fact that white people making fun of asians do not say & #39;please to& #39;, they swap Rs and Ls and talk in (what they think is) a comical tonal way
I actually think most people making this anti-asian argument sense, deep down, that it isn& #39;t really solid — which is why so many of them are taking the additional step of obfuscating & #39;anti-asian& #39; under & #39;woc& #39;. the pattern they& #39;re trying to establish works better if they blur it
to be clear I think plenty of things are racist, if not almost everything, but racism always has patterns, precedents and recurring dynamics that are specific to the groups involved — it& #39;s what helps you identify it
the good thing is we live in a utopia where you can dislike an individual without having to come up with a political case against them
