Hi here's your regular reminder from me, a person who rescues cats and loves cats and devotes most of their life to helping cats: cats should not be allowed outdoors unsupervised no matter what, it's bad for the cat and it's bad for the environment and it's overall just bad!
And before you can reply

1. No, cats don't "need" to go outside you don't understand cats
2. No, your cat won't die of unhappiness if it doesn't go outside you don't understand cats
3. No, "a short full life is better than a long boring one" isn't true you don't understand cats
Cats are domesticated animals and if you wouldn't let your dog wander around your neighborhood unsupervised and shit in your neighbor's gardens then why would you let a cat do it? Oh right because you don't understand cats
Cats left to wander outdoors negatively impact the ecosystem by killing songbirds, amphibians, reptiles and small mammals. Letting your cat outside unsupervised is destroying your local ecosystem's biodiversity! And no cats don't NEED to hunt again you don't understand cats
By the way!! I am totally in favor of supervised outdoor time for cats! In fact I'm in the process of building an outdoor enclosure for my cats. Harness training is great too!
