On Monday April 6th, IHME predicted 66,314 deaths in the UK, with a maximum of 2,932 deaths on April 17th. This got a mass of coverage. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/07/uk-will-be-europes-worst-hit-by-coronavirus-study-predicts
Just three days later, after some unsurprising new data, their prediction had nearly halved to 37,494, with a daily maximum of 1,674 (note change of axis). https://covid19.healthdata.org/united-kingdom  I hope nobody took their first predictions at all seriously, as they looked absurd at the time.
