the saddest part is that taka & sumi were the exact kind of people that alucard killed his own father to protect, and now alucard gets why dracula locked himself away from humanity and why lisa was so special. alucard wanted his lisa moment and he got utterly taken advantage of.
sypha told trevor that alucard was too cold and too sad to get close to and alucard tried so, so hard to be different and live up to his mother's hopes and this is what he got for that, more spiteful humans who don't know what they're doing whom he has to, over and over, forgive
he lost a lot of innocence this season, but so have sypha and trevor
also don't think about how they got those magic restraints from the Belmont hold when Alucard let them explore it unsupervised because he trusted them too much. don't think about it. it will hurt.
it was four concurrent stories about how we can't help but trust people, we can't help but WANT to trust people, but that kind of vulnerability opens us up to betrayal. i'm almost certain season 4 is going to go in depth about why that vulnerability is still vitally important.
or it'll go in depth about how everything is bad forever goodnight, i'm just trying to stay positive here
