Adapting Your Training And Nutrition To Quarantine (Thread):

When COVID-19 initially broke out I wasn't fearful. However, as soon as the headlines started to reach the UK things started to get more serious.

It was inevitable that gyms were going to close.
This was obvious as soon as I started hearing that other countries like France and Spain were already on lockdown.

The UK was bound to follow suit very soon...

Luckily myself and @TheForeverAlpha have a home gym. We have free weights, a barbell, a bench and an exercise bike.
We knew from the start that we'd be okay. But I knew a lot of people wouldn't be, which is why I dedicated a lot of time to doing bodyweight workouts and thinking of as many bodyweight exercises as I could for you guys. I can imagine that it's been tough for a lot of you, but that's not an excuse. As you can see in the thread linked in the last tweet, I came up with many creative and imaginative ways to train with zero equipment other than some backpacks and books.

I was very sore too!
Soreness, albeit not the only indicator of an effective workout, is still a good sign that you are having good workouts.

And regardless of the type of equipment you use, if you are doing the key movements (which I'll talk about in a sec) and pushing yourself, you're doing well.
Speaking of the key movements, the following exercises are critical for your at-home bodyweight workouts:

+ bench press
+ squat
+ deadlift
+ row
+ overhead press
+ dips

You will train your entire body with these movements. Remember, don't focus on the equipment you're using...
Focus on the actual movements you're doing. You could be doing a lot of leg extensions and hamstring curls with different types of equipment but it doesn't mean shit because you're not doing the most important leg exercises: squats and deadlifts.

And like I said, backpacks work.
As for my nutrition, nothing has really changed.

However, strangely enough, I am leaner than I used to be and I'm finding it easier to sustain this new level of leanness despite being at home 24/7 with the fridge door only 2 metres away.

I think it's because I'm very focused.
My focus has shifted to content production at scale, meaning, producing a ton of content across the following platforms: Twitter (obviously), Instagram, Instagram Stories, IGTV, Facebook, Facebook Stories, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok and my blog.

So much value at scale.
And because I'm basically acting like a media company all day long, this has allowed me to stay focused and productive as hell.

I'm creating videos, tweets, blog posts and vlogs all day and getting creative with new series and episodes on Instagram.

What does this mean?
This means that I'm not focusing on what's in the fridge due to boredom. A lot of people right now are very, very bored and it's causing them to eat food unnecessarily and put on the pounds.

Guys during this period, you need to stay focused on something. Just something.
This will divert your attention from the fridge onto what really matters: your life goals and adapting to this uncertain period in your life.

Once you start focusing on a task, you no longer think about what's in your belly. You think about adapting your life to COVID-19.
For me that's content creation at scale. Every day I'm producing videos for my new series on Instagram, sharing my perspective, making blog posts and generating tweets from my blog posts and engaging with the community.

I've even made a group chat called 'The Next Generation'.
'The Next Generation' is a group of guys and girls from the Northwich area (near where I live) who are all into fitness, content creation, personal training and competing.

It's the perfect blend of business tips, workout advice, group workouts and content creation.
Now it's your turn: what have you done to adapt your life to COVID-19?

What's your training like?

What's your nutrition like?

How have you adapted to working at home?

What new strategies are you using to further yourself and your life?
