I’m #Hiring for a bunch of positions at @LogDNA in my teams. If you’re conducting a #JobSearch for a position in #ReleaseEngineering, #SRE, or #DevSecOps and #Security, this thread is for you. 🧵👇
First off, I’m thankful that we can open up positions with the world situation being what it is. I know there are a lot of people and companies in tough spots right now.
Here’s the positions; read on to understand my reasoning.
Release Engineer [US] http://grnh.se/aef852132us
Compliance Lead [US] http://grnh.se/45d06a232us
US Security Engineer [US] http://grnh.se/be07daed2us
SRE - Infra [EU] http://grnh.se/12d408ed2
SRE - Infra [US] http://grnh.se/f2fc8e052
One of my priorities for 2020 is to build 2 new teams: Release Engineering and Security. To bootstrap those teams, I’ve posted 4 roles. We've had folks working on the responsibilities either alone or part-time, but now we want to grow the responsibilities into their own teams.
First up, #ReleaseEngineering. So important, and yet normally it’s just an extra responsibility. When I first read the definition of #RelEng in Google's SRE handbook, I thought, “This. This is what we’re missing.” Then @mipsytipsy's Golden Path post cemented the plan for me.
Next, #Security. It’s odd to go from a large company with a whole sec org to this small company where I’ve needed generalists. It’s time to specialize with a Compliance Lead and a Security Engineer. If @mayakaczorowski’s thread resonates, then talk to me. https://twitter.com/MayaKaczorowski/status/1244669333281767425
And I mean that for both of these roles; I'm tired of Compliance The Hard Way (previous gigs). Let's do what we can to move forward.
And finally... my org has open reqs for 2 SREs: One in US and one in the EU, both full-time remote. The team has grown and is finally starting to set into place, and of all of the positions I’m posting, these reqs probably have the most flexibility in experience.
Quick note on exp and diversity: The new teams do need experience. I’m not looking for specific years or tools. I’m looking for knowledge, skill, and passion. If this thread or the job post appeals to you, please apply! We are equal opportunity, and diversity is important to us.
I hope that you’ve read this and gotten excited to work with us here at @LogDNA. If you want to talk more about whether you’re a good fit for any of these positions, DM me. Please RT so more people have a shot at these positions.
