#CharitySoWhite #COVID19 Paper - In Depth🔍

1⃣ Health Inequalities:

BAME groups remain over-represented in the “at-risk” communities identified by the Government, which is concerning given the racialised access and treatment within the UK health system. 1/
The irony is that when the mainstream media applauds NHS workers the imagery is overwhelmingly white. This inaccurate representation reinforces the message that BAME NHS workers are seen as outsiders.

POC's are dying on the front line whilst STILL facing structural racism 3/
Meanwhile Black Africans are disproportionately affected by HIV.

We have real concerns about people having access to treatment that they need due to discrimination.

If you have further information about BAME and physical health, please reply/DM!

Black Londoners have shown particularly high rights of loneliness and social isolation.

This will be further compounded by #covid19UK and the closure of cultural spaces and places of worship as Ramadan, Passover, Vaisakhi and Easter approach
