We approx import 60 Billion USD from China. Our precious foreign exchange goes into buying those rubbish quality products. So what can we do to move from using Chinese products to @makeinindia
1) Make a list of manufacturing item that we import. Make these industries as priority industries.
2) Give then cheaper lands. May be make special zones or covert already lying idle SEZs and sell/lease them to entrepreneurs.
3) All these zones to be directly monitored and managed by the Central government and not under the whims of different state laws.
4) The state gets employment for its citizens and portion of tax generated.
5) No change of laws and rules for these units once put in place.
6) Most of the private Engineering colleges don’t get students or produce useless engineers. Make these Skill development centres. The infrastructure is there. Get the best from corporate world to train skilled industry ready people
7) Bring back the Indian companies who have moved their production base to China. Give them incentives or penalise them if they don’t move.
8) All big corporates who are investing more outside of India today as we lack infrastructure or policies, provide them platform
9) Invite global companies to set up manufacturing bases. Why can’t some Indian partner make all those Apple phones or anything else
10) Cut out bureaucracies. Trust entrepreneurs. It’s very easy to set up system to identify who is corrupt entrepreneur or bureaucrat.
11) Bring that patriotic feeling. It’s not very difficult for @narendramodi to touch emotionally each and every person. Remember Dad sharing stories how they used to eat one meal during the 65 war on Shastrijis call. Today’s gen is more nationalist.
And don’t question if it’s doable. Don’t laugh with jokes that I am typing with with a phone made in China. It’s not about today. It’s the zidd we need to have. It’s about our long term survival. We just can’t let each and every country dictat us. We r almost 20% of the world.
