Either nobody can write a Modern Love about this or everybody gets to write a Modern Love about this.
I’m sorry to take editorial control like this but it’s unfortunately the rule now!!
You can make “Modern Love in the Time of Coronavirus” a full section in place of the sports pages or truly print out and shred any pitch that begins with: First came love, then came marriage, then came quarantine!!!
Ok we can do this like Tax Day. By April 15th, every novelist, memoirist, journalist, essayist, or TV/screen writer gets to submit a 3500-word Modern Love draft about love/longing in quarantine and over the course of the next 25 years, each one will run.
