Making a sandwich is cooking. Toasted cheese is the best thing on the planet, and it never gets old. Put some dijon mustard on there and slice up some apples on the side. Pat yourself on the back. Freak out about something else. Order a nice cookbook.
cook some pasta, put it back in the pan with a chunk of butter, lots of black pepper, and grated Parm. you don't have to make Alfredo sauce.
break up a bunch of broccoli (save the big stems, peel them, slice into coins: great snack); toss in a bowl with olive oil, s&P. Spread on sheet pan, roast at 425 til it browns/blackens. In a bowl, toss lot of crap on it: scallions, rice wine vinegar, nuts, dried cranberries
Make some rice. Sautee a buttload of chopped/sliced zucchini and onion and season it with salt, pep, and lemon. Mix it with the rice and a handful of chopped mint and toasted almonds. This is crazy good especially if you top it with some plain yogurt (or mixed with garlic + cukes)
Nobody said you have to make stir-fried rice.
And you really can teach yourself to cook by using a GOOD COOKBOOK. You don't have to be a professional or experienced to make a good meal at home. Just read the instructions carefully (and don't complain if you instead use the first recipe to pop up on google). And start small.
I have ZERO appetite right now, so this is basically me trying to talk myself into eating.
