Reminder that the single most damaging factor in the US during the current crisis was FDA zealously carrying out long-standing policy. This paralyzed our ability to test for the virus for *the entire month of February*.

More funding and support would have changed nothing.

The first real warning we got was from the Seattle flu study group, who repurposed their lab to sequence and analyze coronavirus samples in defiance of FDA in late February.

FDA responded by cease-and-desisting them.

Don't let anyone forget this.

When all this is over -- if the government is still standing -- the flu study group should get medals.

And that department at FDA should get a fair trial, by a jury of their peers.
