Purrsuasion: A young girl wants to adopt a kitten but her family won’t let her. She spends all her time at the shelter, getting to know 1 particular volunteer very well... until her fam moves away. 7 yrs later, she gets a job &moves back.

GUESS WHO THE SHELTER MANAGER IS NOW? -R

ALSO HE PERSONALLY KEPT THE CAT SHE’D WANTED TO ADOPT AND NAMED IT THE NAME THEY’D TALKED ABOUT. -R

Annie just wanted a kitten to call her own, y’all. (Her family did not let her have much of her own, you see.)

And young Fred Wentworth was the man who made her feel like her dream could be a reality.

Ok so she moves back to town to purrsue (hehe) a vet career. Her new colleague has the hots for the shelter manager, and Annie doesn’t think he remembers her. So they wind up hanging out in group sitches.

Then someone suggests they spend a day on the lake on Fred’s boat.

It’s nothing fancy. Just his dad’s old fishing boat he inherited and keeps up as a hobby.

Annie’s colleague (we’ll call her Lara) decides she wants to show off in her bikini.

So she dives headfirst while everyone is watching.

And hits her head in the shallows. -R

Fred jumps in to save her of course. The boat day is over as Fred and Annie take Lara to the ER for a checkup.

They bond in the waiting room... she finds out he does remember her — but she doesn’t think he has carried the same feelings all these years. -R

Various other things happen (Like Lara winding up with Fred’s friend Ben instead) but finally, the day is here. Annie has chosen her first pet and it’s time to take the cat home. She goes to do the final paperwork. Fred is there waiting for her to personally finish it up. -R

And... that’s it. Annie signs the paperwork. Tucks it in her bag, and carries her new cat home.

Or so she thinks.

Once home with the cat, Annie takes out the paperwork to read something and notices a handwritten note on the back.

It’s from Fred. -R

He confesses he’s loved her since they met in high school and he tried to forget her but never could. Annie moving back into town was agony because he thought she’d moved on and he never had. But spending time with her taught him to hope.

The letter was full of hope. -R

Annie rushes back to the shelter but they’re already locked up for the night. Just as she sits on the stoop ready to cry, Fred appears — he’s the last one there.

They stare at each other, assessing.

Then he steps forward... and takes her hand in his... -R

And they kiss for the first time under the soft porch lights of the animal shelter they first fell in love at.

(And their kitties were the ring bearers at the wedding.) -R
