Do adults need milk?

Do they need milk, especially the processed 'long life' milk?

#FoodFriday
I am thinking,

If you really have to consume milk,

Get the fresh milk from the farmer.

You would be better off keeping consumption of processed milk away from your kitchen.

The idea that adult humans "need" dairy in their diet doesn’t seem to make much sense.

Human beings are the only animal that consumes dairy after weaning and consumes the milk of another species.

The only fear against raw/unpasteurized milk is the likely presence of pathogens.

But raw milk contains phosphatase which is required for the absorption of calcium.

Phosphatase is destroyed during pasteurisation.

It contains lipase which is required to digest the fat in milk.

Lipase is destroyed by heat during pasteurization.

Also, pasteurization changes the natural properties of milk (taste, colour).

From studies published,

The primary reason why adult humans drink milk is 'calcium'.

It's only babies who benefit a lot from breast milk.

I think humans can get dietary calcium elsewhere in order to avoid lactose intolerance from milk.

Lactose is the sugar in milk.

It is broken down into galactose and glucose.

Lactose Intolerance is the inability to break down lactose.

Some people are unable to tolerate lactose in the milk.

These are my random thoughts.

I have not discouraged anyone from consuming milk.

However, I have my personal reservations as the thread attempts to discuss.

But if you suffer lactose intolerance, keep off milk and visit your gastroenterologist for advice.

In my personal view,

I think milk is for children and calves.

We can get our proteins from MEAT and our calcium from other dairy products or foods.

Then, walk in the sun to optimize calcium absorption.
