Guys, real talk

Your squat bench and deadlift don't make you a great athlete.

Great athletes are born. Deal with it

The barbell has been in existence for about 100 years,

Men trained for centuries without it, got strong af and were functionally capable

Big 3 are OVERRATED
You want to make them your thing, feel free

Reality is that you're still going to be shitty in most measures of functional fitness, or only marginally better

No warrior culture in history trained with perfectly balanced, perfectly loaded implements and had squat racks
The level of fantasy and chest beating attached to these exercises is hysterical

You'd think they give you the ability to fight, fuck, and be a Pro level athlete all in one.

THEY DONT
The Big 3 are not a "complete" training system by any means. They are the most leveraged movements,

Which means you can put the most weight on them, which men love because it gratifies the ego to see the numbers go up
You want to make them your thing and compete in them, by all means do so. Everyone has their "thing". Give 100% of yourself and put your body on the line
If not that, understand that they are simply another tool in the proverbial exercise tool box

And that you don't actually NEED to do them
All this said:

IF they do WORK for you, and work particularly well

Yes, by all means do them

If they don't, then they don't. Dont worry about

The pseudo alpha chest beating that you're not a man if you don't squat though, etc

Get fucking real.
I don't barbell squat. At all

Tried for years, fucked with my hips for years. Lost athleticism

I could FORCE myself to do an exercise that was never going to work,

Or I could choose squat variations that work.

"Maybe your mobility was the problem"

No. Assbackwards thinking
You adapt exercises to PEOPLE

You do not force people into exercises

if a movement is not congruent with bodily structure, dont do the movement

The fact that everyone bases their understanding of training on how people can move a barbell is fractally incorrect and wrong
Human body evolved to walk and RUN

It locomotes, the gait cycle is at the core of everything we do thats natural movement

It did not evolve to move a pole with weight on the ends

That we CAN move it does not make wholly representative of our abilities
