Wild thing about this is that the employer here 100% validates UCUs demands about excessive workload - stating that by definition working to contract is "partial performance - a central issue in the industrial action!!!
VCs may claim they have little to no influence over national pay & pensions demands (BS), but they certainly have control over this issue. It treats staff with utter contempt to say we deserve NO PAY for working to contract. For shame!
And to assert that to meet our employers' performance expectations must, by definition, mean almost always working beyond contractual hours, is YOUR failure employers, not ours. #UCUstrikesback for fair working conditions
