I'm still sad, so I'm going to make another thread of animals that I think look like wizards.
This one is clearly a questgiver.
12th level Necromancer
This one is a puppy and STILL looks like an ancient sorcerer.
"Gandalf? Yes. That is what they used to call me. Gandalf the Gray. I am Gandalf the White. I come to you now at the turn of the tide."
"An apprentice? Hmph. I hope you'll fare better than the last six. I've grown weary of cleaning the ashes out of my robes."
Orangutans are almost cheating, since they look so magical already.
"You've come seeking knowledge? You will find that here, hand in hand with suffering."
"I hope you've a good reason for interrupting. My work is not to be taken lightly."
This guy probably guards a vault.
The other eye sees six years into the future.
“Off to see the southern oracle? Only the pure of heart may pass.”
“Far from home, are we? Well, no need to be a stranger. We’re all strange here, friend.”
"Always in a hurry, you young ones are. Struggling to catch up with life even as it passes you by. I was much the same, once."
Fancy Pigeons basically look like they descended from a tower to tell you to retrieve Vecna's Skull for them.
“Adventure? Pah! I’ve no use for such frivolities. Now, if you’ve come to discuss the Tome of Naxos, that’d be different!”
I don’t know what this guy’s wizard name would be, but I bet it involves the words “the mad”
Tortoises are wizards that you meet at the end of the story who tells you some truth about how friendship is the true power.
“I was not expecting you. But come and sit. There’s plenty of nothing to do for everyone.”
Probably a powerful evoker, deep in thought.
"Come to keep an old soul company? No, of course not. You're here in pursuit of something. I came here searching for it, too, once."
"Oh! You can see me? Well, this got a trifle awkward all of a sudden."
This wizard probably knows at least sixty different ways to communicate entirely in riddles.
"Excuse me, but this is my dank cavern. I selected it specifically because of the dank. Go find your own."
“I see you’ve come far! I don’t know why you decided to stop here, though.”
“You’ve come again? Was I not obvious enough when I moved to an underwater cave?”
Here’s a whole dang council.
This wizard comes with an apprentice.
You will notice that many animals who are wizard have majestic hair, like this one.
"I have seen a great and terrible thing. I see days of blood and darkness, people screaming to uncaring gods. It's pretty bad is what I'm saying."
Marabou Storks are the kinds of wizards that guard the secrets of the afterlife.
“Of course I knew you’d come to seek my wisdom. I’m THAT wise.”
When all three members of the council incant at the same time, powerful spells are unleashed.
This wizard probably specializes in glamers or lightning.
“I have power. Oh yes. The power to turn reality upside down. Ha! Get it? That’s a joke.”
This wizard is very sagacious, as you can tell from their majestic beard.
"Who seeks the wisdom of the coven? Speak quickly! We have only five hours to go between us!"
This wizard doubtlessly knows the secrets of the universe. Of course, he won’t tell you until you listen to his stories.
This wizard has seen much in his many years. He will be difficult to impress.
“SO, you have come seeking—oh, you haven’t? Are you sure? I’m quite mysterious.”
“On your way to an adventure, eh? Sounds like you need a potion or three. Fortunately, I have just what you need, all at reasonable rates!”
This wizard specializes in forgotten and forbidden magic.
“I’ve seen mysteries that would scare you half to death. The answers would finish the job!”
"Yes, I know the secrets of the mysteries of existence. I also know about a thousand excellent jokes, but no one comes seeking me out for that, do they? HA!"
This mighty wizard is unrivaled in the north. Take care when challenging him.
Here is a sagacious wizard and his keen apprentice. But few can tell which is which.
This wizard lives a reclusive life, collecting secrets and parting with few. Though, if you bring a tale and a bottle of something strong, she might gift you one.
"Of course I have magical powers. I don't have this crest because I'm good at sewing!"
"Surprised to find me in such a place? My wisdom wouldn't be worth much if it was easy to find, now would it?"
“Who dares rouse me from my ancient slumber for—YAWN. Oh, excuse me.”
Some say the twins dabbled in dark sorcery. Others say it was simply transmutation gone awry. Only they know for sure.
This wise wizard is difficult to find. But those driven to seek his knowledge will make a valuable ally in the ordeals to come.
Many have sought the knowledge of this most regal wizard, but few have thought to look down to find it.
This mighty wizard is unassuming, but powerful. For a few words of friendship and a mug of ale, he might share what he knows.
“Eh? What’s that? You seek poop? Why poop? OH! Truth! You’re seeking truth. Well, speak up, my ears don’t work so good since the alchemy lab accident.”
Though this wizard is young, her voice is clear and her spells are mighty.
This wizard has been around for awhile, communing with spirits long gone. He wears his knowledge like a suit of armor.
This wizard’s scrying powers are renowned throughout the world. Each sphere holds a portent best left unknown.
“Pfff. You act like you’ve never seen a Cloak of Seven Thousand Wonders before.”
“You made it to the Forbidden Tower? YOU? Well, if I hadn’t done it myself six hundred years ago, I’d be very impressed, I assure you.”
This circle of wizards has set out on a quest to right a great wrong. It would be wise to stay out of their way, for the fate of many weighs heavily upon them.
"Could you come back later, perhaps? Honestly, what kind of plebeian comes to a dread tower so early?"
This sagely wizard was granted a crown as testament of his great wisdom (though many whisper it’s because of that time he accidentally cursed himself).
This wizard emerges from her tower only once a year. Her studies are more important to her than anything, including grooming.
"The Mad? Is that what they're calling me in the village now? It wasn't that long ago that they called me The Wise."
This wizard might look foolish to the unlearned, but those who pay attention have learned that her powers are such that she no longer needs the use of mortal eyes.
This wise wizard has secrets to spare. But be sure to catch him quick, as he’s always in a hurry.
“Well! Company! Here for tea? Or arcane secrets? I suppose it hardly matters, I’ve plenty of both.”
This sagely wizard rarely emerges from their library, but if you have stories for them to add to their collection, they might share with you some ancient knowledge.
This wise wizard’s store of arcane secrets is as long as his moustaches. He meditates daily on the burden of his knowledge, but if you happen to see him on the one day every two hundred years that he opens his eyes, his wisdom can be yours.
“They called my magical research mad! They called ME mad! MAD! Can you believe it!? Well, I certainly can.”
This wizard takes great pride in his beard. Many consider him quite philosophical, with how often he paws at it in thought. But some say he just likes the touch.
