Every unjustified, lying redaction and every phony claim of "lost" texts and emails by the FBI / DOJ must be prosecuted.
These seemingly trivial ingredients are the raw material of tyranny in our time - the arrogance of state power, the betrayal of equal justice, the subversion of the minimum accountability that should be the necessary condition of the many privileges we have ceded for "security."
And it is not only the law enforcement organs of the executive branch that should answer for the abuse of power and the torrent of falsehoods we now realize have been afflicting us.
The branch responsible for restraining, moderating - judging - the executive to which it has awarded so much power and discretion has much to answer for as well.

This branch has however worn a lack of accountability as a badge of pride.
Maybe it must be that way, but the gaping moral wound that is the crisis we're experiencing - the vast and repeated betrayals of trust by the powerful and the untouchable - will not heal without major reform.

And I can't imagine what that would look like. <>
