Abraham Lincoln freed 0 slaves.

First he had no authority to free any slaves because the federal government didn’t regulate slavery, the states did and if they didn’t want to free the slaves they didn’t have to.

Secondly he was getting back at the South with the Emancipation Proclamation but at the time the South wasn’t even apart of the United States So there was literally no way he could’ve freed them.

Thirdly I need y’all to understand he didn’t care about black people fr until a little before he died. He was doing all that to get back at the South. He even said if the rejoined the Union they could keep their slaves.

The war wasn’t even about slavery they just wanted to be a Union again. Losing slavery was a consequence because they didn’t join back.
