28 times i fell in love with junmyeon anew

in celebration of junmyeon turning 28, here's a little thread compiling just a select few of the countless moments when being a bunny citizen gave me that wonderful rewarding feeling, the one that makes you go "wow, you really are the one, i'm so lucky to have found you"

kicking this thread off with the the moment i first Knew: too gentle to crack an egg (*ttok ttok*), the desperation in his laughter, forgetting the salt, his charming smile! i remember thinking "i'd eat this man's burnt food for the rest of my life bc the main ingredient is love"

when junmyeon said he visited a temple for christmas so buddha wouldn't feel lonely! this year, their birthdays fall on the same day and it's such a beautiful example of synchronicity!

when junmyeon started 1일 1수호/준면 to spoil us bunnies and communicate with us directly about his activities. he manages to post even when he's really busy (or right after events he feels were stressful for the fans) and has kept this tradition going for nearly 2 years now!

when junmyeon coined 엘기 (elgi), a new nickname for us, by combining the '엘' (L/el) in EXO-L and '기' (gi) in '애기' (baby) and confidently shouted "OPPA IS HERE!!!!" at the top of his lungs!

when junmyeon realized the birthday surprise wasn't for baekhyun only. i remember this being a defining moment for me as a bunny citizen. upon seeing the genuine disbelief and unadulterated joy on his face i was certain i had found someone truly good and incredibly special

when junmyeon joined luhan and jongin and ran into the cold winter sea (even though the punishment didn't apply to him) because the others used his sentimental feelings about his role as leader against him and so he happily made the sacrifice

when junmyeon was approached by a fan at a restaurant, signed their autograph and later silently paid for their meal before leaving

when junmyeon described the other members' voices by analogy with colors this was so thoughtful, expressive and eloquent i actually tear up every time i think of it

this is self-explanatory. it was teacher's day and although he doesn't think of himself as a teacher, this was a valuable lesson in bravery, strength and perseverance if i ever saw one. he is always teaching by example.

when junmyeon had a cameo appearance on 'the return of superman,' promised to send gifts to soeul and daeul and kept his word

junmyeon saying "i hope you can gain strength from listening to power. i love you." it came at a time when i really needed something to hold on to and i have such great respect for how he always actively tries to make their work as meaningful and as comforting as possible

when junmyeon single-handedly saved 3 of his members from physical harm. exo are very lucky to have someone this perceptive and protective as their leader.

when junmyeon chose to sit at the very edge of the seat for hours during MAMA 2016 because there wasn't enough room for everyone and he wouldn't let sehun sit on the floor

when junmyeon exposed his hopelessly romantic self and said he watches 'love actually' not 'home alone' every year for christmas. he said the word cards confession was a nice way to propose to someone and chanbaek tried to clown him for being cheesy but he was having none of it!
